Trash & Recyclables
TCU is dedicated to environmental protection and actively promotes recycling on campus. Gray recycling bins and tan recycling dumpsters are conveniently placed across the campus to facilitate this effort. The Custodial staff collect paper, plastic bottles, and metal cans from designated bins in academic and administrative buildings and deposit them into the recycling dumpsters for collection by the waste contractor.
In residence halls, recyclable material are gathered by Residential Housekeeping and transferred to the appropriate recycling dumpsters. The waste disposal company then transports the collected materials to their off-campus facility, where they are sorted and sent to recyclers.
Non-recyclable waste, including food waste, is transported off campus to a commercial landfill. Additionally, Facilities maintains a commercial-sized dumpster for collection of metals and other recyclable construction material.
