Chemical Waste
The disposal of outdated, substituted, or otherwise no longer needed hazardous chemicals
potentially creates a hazardous waste. There are numerous regulations that govern
the disposal of hazardous waste and it is the responsibility of the appropriate managers
and supervisors to ensure that proper handling, storage and disposal requirements
are followed. Therefore, no employee shall dispose of a potential hazardous chemical
without verifying whether it is legally considered a hazardous waste.
Chemicals that are verified to be a hazardous waste must be disposed of properly.
For guidance on the proper procedures to follow, contact the Hazardous Material Safety
Manager at 817-257-5395 or safety@tcu.edu.
