AED Program
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that can be used to treat a person whose heart has suddenly stopped working. This condition is called cardiac arrest. Having an AED close by can mean the difference between life and death when every second counts.
AEDs are located in most buildings on campus. To view locations visit TCU's interactive map. Under "Health, Wellness and Safety", select the box "AED (Defibrillators)". All
AEDs include instructions on when and how to use them. Training on proper use is recommended;
however, individuals with no training can use the device to reset the heartbeat of
a person who has a sudden cardiac arrest.
