Lockout/Tagout Program

Main Content

During the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment, the unexpected startup or release of stored energy can result in serious injury or death to workers.  Proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices and procedures safeguard workers from hazardous energy releases and help ensure workers stay safe while repairing or servicing equipment, preventing personal injury and property damage.

TCU's Lockout/Tagout operating procedures address the responsibilities, requirements, and procedures necessary for isolating equipment, machinery, and electrical circuits from energy sources. Prior to performing maintenance or service work on any equipment, machines, or systems, TCU employees must complete appropriate Lockout/Tagout training.  For more information, contact TCU Facilities at 817-257- 7815.
